VASHA

Vasha is a film about the frienship of two men from different worlds. Being a journey of an innocent boy and a man from a wartorn country haunted his memories. It tells a story of brotherhood, betrayal and revenge - and the alternative to resist violence in the moment of power.

Vasha was made as a co-production between Estonia, Germany, Finland and Ireland. It was mainly shot in Estonia, near its capital Tallinn. Many different financiers made the project possible, among others the Filmförderung Hamburg Schleswig-Holstein and Medienboard from Germany and the Finnish Filmfoundation together with the Estonian Filmfoundation. Also the finnish broadcaster YLE and the german broadcaster ARD / Degeto were co-financing the production, which was executed by Piret Tibbo-Hudgings and Philipp Homberg. The Director of Photograpy was Rein Kotov, the production design was conceived by Jaagup Roomet. The score as well as the song "Perfect World" were composed by Ray Harman.
