TATORT „Borowski's Tango“

The screenplay was written by Clemens Murath and the original screen story was conceived by Salonen and Murath together at the original locations and in the sauna. The regular team of Salonen moved to Finland for the shooting period, amongst others the DoP Andreas Doub. The cast is predominantly finnish, consisting of very well known local actors like Axel Milberg, Jorma Tommila and Janne Hyytiäinen who played the leading role in the last Aki Kaurismäki film. Also Florian Bartholomäi, who already playes one of the leading roles in Salonen’s Tatort „Hilflos“ will be seen again in this Finnland based movie. Also the score will be written by Klaukien & Lonardoni, who for the time being are composing Tatort „Hilflos“. „Borowski’s Tango“ is a co-production between Studio Hamburg and the finnish company Talvi. Beside the north german broadcasting station NDR also the finnish broadcaster YLE and the Finnish Film Foundation are financing this film. The commissioning editors are Doris J. Heinze and Jeanette Würl from NDR.

„Detective Klaus Borowski is sent to finnish wilderness to deliver a german boy back home. The boy is supposed to have killed a girl brutally during the celebration of the midsommer. Despite the clear evidence Borowski concludes soon that the boy is likely to be innocent and the real murderer is to be found somewhere in the darkest places of the finnish mythology...“
